Jonny Bairstow's remarkable unbeaten century propelled Punjab Kings to a record-breaking run-chase victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Bairstow, who reached three figures in just 50 balls, played a pivotal role in guiding Punjab to the highest successful run-chase in IPL history, surpassing their previous record of 226 set in 2021.
Kolkata Knight Riders had earlier posted a daunting 261/6, with Andre Russell's unbeaten 70 and Nitish Rana's 55 providing the bulk of their runs.
